Carbon Fiber Vertical Jigging Rods

While these blanks were originally designed for vertical jigging, they make for some outstanding bottom fishing blanks! Carbon fiber blanks are lighter and more sensitive than graphite blanks. If you’ve ever fished from a rocking boat, it’s often difficult to maintain a tight line with a hooked fish while the boat rises and falls with the swells. Just putting a slight bend in the rod eliminates any slack in the line. This is due to the slow action and the progressive bending of the rod. In a similar comparison of fiberglass blanks to graphite blanks; carbon fiber blanks are lighter and more sensitive than graphite blanks. If you prefer a stiffer action for bottom fishing, just select a higher rated rod. For example, on a recent haddock fishing trip I used the Palmarius 2 blank with 10 ounces of lead to hold bottom. The rod performed flawlessly, but when drifting, I preferred a slightly stiffer action. Moving up to the Palmarius 3 blank became the solution! These blanks are six and one half feet in length, but can be customized to add length to the rod. I invite to see these rods in action.
